Steve was delighted to be asked by Athena Healthcare Group to host the Athena Foundation Charity Ball in 2018. The Athena Foundation aims to raise money to support a number of local charities and communities. 

Staged at the stunning Hilton Liverpool, the evening supported Claire House Hospice. The hospice helps seriously and terminally ill children from 0–23 years, by providing specialist nursing care and emotional support.

Following a welcome from Steve, and ice breaker game of heads and tails, guests enjoyed a delicious dinner. They were entertained both during dinner and later in the evening by superb vocalist; Stephen Bayliss. 

There were guests from the “Red and Blue” side of Merseyside. They included former Liverpool and Republic of Ireland international turned TV Pundit; Mark Lawrenson and Liverpool & England star John Barnes – who was also guest speaker for the evening. To balance things, Everton fans were delighted to welcome FA Cup Goal scoring legend – Derek Temple.

Steve hosted the live auction, which raised a great amount for Claire House. There were many sought after auction prizes, including a 1966 World Cup Shirt, an Anthony Joshua Glove and Steven Gerrard framed signed shirt. 

It was a very successful evening, which would not have been possible without the very kind generosity of Steven & Claire Wylie.
