Steve was delighted to be asked to host the Intu Eldon Square Christmas Light Switch On in 2014. It is a firm annual favourite with the people of Newcastle, and a true sign Christmas is on its way. Once again, the turn out was fantastic, and the event was hugely supported.

To open the event, as always, the audience really enjoyed the Newcastle City Temple Salvation Army Band - under the guidance of Band Master Bob Dare.

Steve then introduced the first of the day's special guests - The UK's No1 Take That Tribute; Re-Take That

It was then time for our guests of honour Shrek and the Green Fairy to turn on the Christmas lights - not before a Q&A with Steve, and then a fantastic version of "I'm a believer" from the show. The show comes to Newcastle Theatre Royal in March 2015.

Steve was joined once again on stage by Re-Take That. They sang the Shakin' Stevens classic "Merry Christmas Everyone"
