Steve first hosted the Institution of Civil Engineers Gala Dinner & Awards in 2017. The backdrop for the event was the fantastic National Railway Museum in York. He continues to host it to the present day.

Each year, the event is staged at various hotels in the region. They’ve included;

2023 - Marriott Hotel, Leeds. 
2024 - Majestic Hotel, Harrogate
2025 - DoubleTree by Hilton, Hull
2026 - Mercure St Paul’s, Sheffield

Steve introduces the Regional chair, who as well as addressing guests, then informs them of the benefitting charity for the evening.

Yorkshire & Humber STEM Ambassador of the Year Award
Centenary Award - Projects £5m and over
Smeaton Award - Projects greater than £500k but less than £5m
Sir John Fowler Award – Projects or studies less than £500k
