ICE Awards & Gala Dinner – Yorkshire & Humber

Steve was delighted to be asked to host the Institution of Civil Engineers Gala Dinner & Awards in 2017. The backdrop for the event was the fantastic National Railway Museum in York, it is the highlight of the ICE Social Calendar.

Steve welcomed guests before introducing the Chair – Chris Digman. He told guests of the Charity that the evening would be supporting. Mental health charity Rethink would be benefiting, and guests generously raised £2550.

Guests then enjoyed a delicious dinner, following which Steve introduced ICE President Professor Tim Broyd.

It was then down to business, and the ICE Awards 2017. The categories were:

Centenary Award - projects £5m and over
Smeaton Award - projects greater than £500k but less than £5m
Sir John Fowler Award– projects or studies less than £500k

Guests then partied to a great band “Kudos”, and enjoyed a flutter in the Casino.

The evening was a big success, and Steve would like to say thank you to Penny Marshall, Stephanie Thomas and Saville AV.
